I love creating 3D models, and Heiwajima Shizuo from Durarara!! is a great example. High-quality textures really make him pop. When I work on his body, face, and eyes, I use high-poly models for those details to bring out the realistic feel of his character design. But let's be real, most of the rest can just be made with simple materials to save time without sacrificing much in the way of visual fidelity.
