The Heinkel He-177 A-5, a German heavy bomber equipped with a remote-controlled Ruhrstahl/Kramer glide bomb called Fritz X, served in 2./KG 100 based in France during 1944. This model, originally crafted in cinema4D, offers detailed close-up renders and includes bodypaint textures and standard materials. The compressed file contains a model, 19 textures, one material, and an alphamap. All materials, bodypaint textures, and textures are included within the package, requiring no cleanup before rendering. No special plugin is necessary to open this scene. Phong shading interpolation/smoothing is set at 35°. The LWO, 3DS, FBX, C4D, and OBJ formats contain parts for separate fly and ground versions. In the LWO, 3DS, FBX, and OBJ files, the AlphaMap (Run_Alpha) must be manually loaded in the Alphacanal or Transparency Canal. The C4D version is R16. The He-177, designed in 1936-37, boasted numerous innovations, such as coupled engines (four driving two propellers), surface evaporative engine cooling (no drag-inducing external radiators), remote-controlled turrets, fully pressurized crew compartments, and a unique four-legged landing gear arrangement. The original DB 604 coupled engines were prone to in-flight fires but were resolved by the A-5 with DB 610 engines, added radiators, and larger engine cowls. However, it was too late for Germany as most He-177s were used as maritime patrol aircraft in France, against Russia, and during Operation Steinbock against England. None survived, as they were destroyed on airfields by strafing allied aircraft or sat idle due to fuel being needed for fighter defense. The He-177 was the only heavy bomber built by Germany in quantity during WWII.
