Height Gauge 2.0
thingiverse
I wanted an height gauge that was solid, adjustable, not too flimsy for my 1/10th and 1/8th buggy's. It had to be easy to use, easy toi manipulate AND strong. The previous design ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3704124 ) could use some improvement so I designed a new and larger one. The gauge consist of a longer device with a height of 14 mm, on the other side 23mm. There are two pistons. The first will add +1, +2, +3, +4 mm The second will add +5, +6, +7, +8 mm So the height-range is 14 till 31mm You can adjust the piston to the desired height by removing it, turn to the correct setting and remount it, then slide the gauge under the chassis of the buggy to check the distance between track and chassis. By design it is easy to slide under the chassis and to retrieve it. Another important advantage is that the piston provides a strong level. So once the buggy is on the correct level, you can push the car down onto the gauge .. and then alter settings as camber, ... No need to check those settings multiple times. Every time the car is at the desired height, camber will be correct. Been using this gauge some time now and it is a great tool. The pistons might be a bit too loose. *** Also added two new pistons which have other markings Also, added a new "base" which goes higher for Truggy's that run higher above the ground.
