Height/depth stand for tabletop
thingiverse
I helped a friend DM prepare stands for an underwater D&D session where players would swim and fight at various depths. ### Assembly: To build one stand, you'll need: * 2 printed parts * An M5 threaded rod or something similar with a 5mm diameter. Cut it 1cm shorter than the desired height to account for the thickness of the model inside. * 4 round magnets with diameters of either 5mm or 8mm and heights of 1-2mm. * Some glue. Both magnet sizes work well, but I found a 5x2 setup to be the best solution for stands up to 15 inches high. Since this corresponds to a standard D&D grid scale of 75 feet, it's an ideal height. When assembling the stand, apply glue to the rod and insert it into the parts. Also, apply glue to the magnets. In my case, all the parts fit tightly together, so the glue was just a precautionary measure.
