I often find myself checking the height of each side of my printer, which can sometimes be difficult due to faint marks on the ruler. To solve this issue, simply insert the height checker between the motor and bearing block, then drive the block down until it touches; this way you will know both sides are at the same height. I have set mine to 68mm tall as this is a consistent height I frequently use. You can easily change this to any suitable height for your printer. A small tab on the side helps you hold it securely.
