Hefty 20qt Filament Dry Box
thingiverse
This is a bracket for converting a standard 20-quart Hefty Protect box into dry filament storage, complete with integrated holders for four desiccant containers. Some notable features include: * Maximizing interior width available for spools * Holders for Desiccant Containers * A snug, precise fit * No print supports required * An inexpensive aluminum angle bracket * Designed for standard 20cm diameter spools I selected aluminum angle for the spool support due to its rigidity along its long axis relative to weight and affordability at most hardware stores. The desiccant holders are designed to accommodate the minimalist yet functional Vase Mode Desiccant Container, created by TempusEdaxRerum. This container is quick to print, lightweight, and holds approximately 2.5 ounces of desiccant each, providing about 10 ounces in total within the box. The bracket itself is printed in PLA, while the desiccant containers are printed in PETG due to their heat tolerance. They can be easily placed directly into a filament dryer for drying as needed. Bill of Materials: 2 X Bracket. PLA material is sufficient. 4 X Desiccant Container. A heat-tolerant material like PETG is recommended for optimal performance. 1 X 1/8" x 3/4" x 3/4" Aluminum Angle, at least 27 inches long. Cut two lengths of 13.5 inches each from this piece. 10 oz of 2mm or larger Silica Gel Desiccant
