HEEWING T-1 Ranger wing clip repair

Repair insert for the Heewing Ranger T1. Soon these parts will be available on the Heewings store, but if you want to stay in the air, you can do this :)! No harm can be done as the wing joiner is probably already broken if you are here lol! I love the design of the wing joiners, they pop off the wings when you have a serious crash, so you don't do any damage to the wing or fuselage, the energy goes into pulling the wing apart. Optional template to assist cut out included. The idea is to remove the material under the snapped off clip (about 1.6mm). Step 1: Flatten surface if needed to remove any damaged remains of the clip Step 2: Press the Template in place, noting that you will be removing the material from under the original clip (as in the photo). Note the cut out in the wing is around 2.4x10mm, you need to make this 4x10mm, towards the broken off clip. Step 3: Use a thin tip soldering iron to remove 1.6mm of material, do this a little bit at a time and very carefully!! You use a sharp blade to clean the hole up, resulting in a 4x10mm cut out. Step 4: Carefully slide in and pop the new clip in place, thin nose pliers can help, just double check your new cut out is 4mm x 10mm! IT SHOULD BE A TIGHT FIT!! Note that when in place, it is just as springy as an original clip :). Step 5: Slide into the wing and check your printed part clips into the original wing joiner. When happy they can be glued in place, I just left mine clipped in :)! Message me here or on RC Groups/Facebook if you need any tips.
