For those who keep or know about keeping hedgehogs and tenrecs, you'll recognize that a standard hamster wheel radius is too small, causing the animal to arch its back in an unnatural way. Wheels designed for hedgehogs and tenrecs are much larger, creating a shallower incline for the animal to run on. This wheel design allows for a lower profile and fits into most enclosures while creating an almost flat surface for running. It's essential to choose plastics wisely! The filament you use should be safe for your hedgehog or tenrec. I print all my items with four perimeters since they're working parts, although this item only needs two perimeters in my opinion. The wheel is designed to work with two standard 608 skateboard bearings, preferably shielded bearings.
