Hector's Bell
thingiverse
There are two kinds of people on this planet: those who love watching Breaking Bad and those who haven't had the chance to experience it yet. The show is a masterful blend of high drama, pulse-pounding adventure, and just the right amount of witty humor to break up the intense action that never seems to let up. Plus, there's a lot of great breakfast moments. Everyone loves Hector Salamanca. We may not know him extremely well, but his distinctive face is instantly recognizable. And his unique bell can make quite an impact (as witnessed by Gus' unfortunate skull). This is my recreation of Hector's infamous bell. It's a prop and doesn't actually produce sound (that's for you to figure out), but it will look fantastic sitting on a desk if you 3D print it, paint it, and then scrunch up your face in anger, slam your hand on it repeatedly. You're clever enough to come up with a way to add a real bell. I'm confident that you'll find a solution. I plan to print my own tomorrow and add another photo after I finish painting it. There are two files available: one is a complete set and the other is just the plunger and plunger knob. The reason I provided both options is that the plunger (especially the shaft) might not come out strong enough with certain types of plastic. Therefore, you may want to print only the knob and use a dowel or metal rod instead. I actually used a nail, a spring from a ballpoint pen, and then printed a piece for inside the bell that combines them all into a spring-activated soundless bell. You can add the sound in on video or get a regular bell and use its guts. There are plenty of options. I primed it first and then painted it with gold enamel modeling paint. Now it proudly sits on my desk. But please don't try to use rocks. They're minerals, Marie, minerals. Also: I'm the one who 3D prints under the cover of night. I am the danger. Finally: I made this for you, Skylar. Don't you get that? All these 3D prints are for our family.
