Hebe, acquired 1952 inv. 2135, J.-F.-J. Saly (1717-1776), 1753. Marble, Victoria & Albert Museum, London. The Royal Cast Collection (Copenhagen, Denmark) features this impressive work of art made with Memento Beta (now ReMake) from AutoDesk. It stands approximately 0.80 m high. This original piece measures 182 cm in height and is carved out of marble by French sculptor Jacques François Joseph Sally (1717-1776). Replicas like it, housed in various museums worldwide, including the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Royal Cast Collection in Copenhagen, are actually reproductions of an original commissioned by Madame de Pompadour for Bellevue Castle. The king presented this castle to his mistress in 1750. In Greek mythology, Hebe, daughter of Zeus and Hera, is a goddess who embodies youth, vitality, and vigor in young people.
