Heavy Mendel, a self replicating 3D printer/mill/PCB engraver

Heavy Mendel, a self replicating 3D printer/mill/PCB engraver

thingiverse

This design is based on the triangular frame of a RepRap Mendel, but it will be heavier and more rigid to handle tasks like milling plastic, engraving circuit boards, and high-speed printing. Compared to standard Mendels, this model features a vertical X axis for quick tool changes (extruder or spindle), M10 and M12 threaded rods for enhanced frame stiffness, and 10mm smooth rods for better axis rigidity. It also incorporates Madkite's precision doubling belt configuration and uses Nema23 steppers on the X and Y axes instead of Nema17. Each axis will have four printed linear bearings, and steel cables may replace timed belts for the X and Y axes. All parts are printed with a 0.2mm layer height, and progress updates can be found on various "thing" pages: main/frame, X-axis, Y-axis, Z-axis, linear bearings.
