Heavy Duty Spool Holder for Kossel/Delta Printers
thingiverse
I built this spool holder because I'm eager to take my printer to the next level with dual filament printing capabilities. I've always been drawn to top-mounted spool holders, but they often fall short when it comes to securely holding two filament spools in place. For this project, I need a robust and reliable Hard-Core spool holder that can handle the demands of dual-printing. The spindle relies on two 608Z skateboard bearings for stability, and all the components are reinforced with extra support. This attention to detail ensures a sturdy foundation for my printer's dual filament setup. A key feature of this design is the ny-loc nut, which allows for precise adjustments to the drag on the spindle. By fine-tuning the tension, I can prevent the spools from unwinding on their own and ensure a smooth printing experience. I've recently updated the design with longer brackets and a filament guide, making it even more functional and user-friendly.
