Heavy Duty MK8 stepper mount
thingiverse
I tried to print ABS using the ones that came with the kit, but they started to melt. So I created my own from scratch, using the original mount and adding some features that might be useful later on. I also designed a solid platform for your thumb when pulling down on the extruder, tired of burning my finger holding onto the heat sink. Update: I made another one, slightly smaller but with more strength in the base to support the weight of the motor at high temperatures. It's labeled stronger for a reason. Print Settings Printer: Sintron Prusia i3 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: .2 Infill: 40% Notes: I printed this on a cold bed with hair spray, and it came out really well instead of using heat. You can print with brim if you need to. Just flop the design around in your slicer and print it from the bottom up with the overhangs hanging in mid-air. After four prototypes, this should be the final result. It works with any reprap or prusia carriage holder. How I Designed This This is my setup. I create designs in Inventor and save them as stl files.
