Heavy Duty Lazy Susan for Full Body Scanning (Legacy Design)
thingiverse
This turntable supports heavy loads for full-body 3D scanning, inspired by plans found at http://cheesycam.com/motorized-lazy-susan-heavy-duty/. It features a car front wheel hub assembly as the rotation bearing and an electric drill to power turning. The original design has been updated with a 12V, 4RPM high-torque rotisserie motor, belt drive, and 3D printed pulleys. A foot pedal controls motor power for safety reasons. However, this version is deprecated as the designer works on a new 2.0 turntable design with a worm gear motor and chain driving a sprocket for easier subject mounting and dismounting. Make Magazine has build instructions available at http://makezine.com/projects/guide-to-3d-printing-2014/heavy-duty-turntable/.
