A fusion of "Heavy duty filament spool - for mendel by watsdesign" (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:11447) and "Snap-In Mendel Filament Guide, with diagonal slot by toomanyplugs" (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:11521) spurred my interest. I combined the two different format files in openSCAD to create a custom filament guide after printing the heavy duty spool. The edges might show slight roughness due to the removal of protruding edges during cleanup. I hope this meets your requirement. If not, please let me know.
