Heavy Duty - Enclosed Bearing - Tri Fidget Spinner Toy
thingiverse
After shattering numerous 3D printed Tri Fidget Spinner Toys, I developed a new design boasting several key features: - Employs 4 x standard 608 bearings. - Bearings are safely enclosed within the two half shells, ensuring no stress on the plastic and preventing them from falling out. - The design boasts 5mm bearing walls and a total shell height of 9mm for added durability. - Bearings fit effortlessly into the shells, eliminating the need for force or clamping. - When printed with ABS, this toy can withstand several meter drops onto concrete without cracking or dislodging bearings. - ABS shells can be bonded using liquid ABS or super glue. Printed with ABS, a 0.5mm nozzle, and a 0.3mm layer height. The design was created in Sketchup Make, and the file is included. I discovered that the +3% version fits perfectly when printing with ABS (bearings can be easily pressed into the shells). Please let me know if anyone attempts this design with PLA; I suspect it would still crack if dropped from several meters onto concrete.
