This is a renter-friendly heavy-duty adhesive clip I designed to hang my backpack up without the need for any hardware. I used 3M mounting tape to make a bond suitable for my needs (rated up to 10lbs) - I'd recommend that solution if you're looking for something similar. You could easily add screw holes if hanging something heavier, too.
