Heavy-Duty 5kg Filament Holder
cults3d
I needed a heavy-duty filament spool holder to hold massive rolls of filament, so I purchased the Texas Size spools from Zyltech here: http://www.zyltech.com/zyltech-filament/5kg-filament-spools/ but I required a superior method for these spools to feed through the extruder. I created this around those bearings which I already had, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BN3X9BY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. You'll also need a 12inch x 3/4inch threaded rod, two 3/4inch washers and four 3/4inch nuts. You must print (2) of the Brackets, I designed two styles, one is more compact and works on many machines while the second one is a bit more robust and just looks cool! I only printed the compact design at this time. You will also need to print (2) bushings and (2) Bearing Holders. The bearings should fit perfectly in the bearing holders then insert the bushing. Slide the Bearing Holder, the bearing and bushing onto the threaded rod followed by a washer and nut. Do this on both sides and try to center everything then hand-tighten. Place on brackets and hand-tighten nuts against the outside of the bracket. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOCPbwRfFlI&feature=youtu.be https://youtu.be/seBG9P_6I80 I printed everything with 30% infill and it all seems strong enough.
