Heatwave WiFi LED Lamp
thingiverse
Not a remix, but a mashup of two Thingiverse designs. Always thought that virtox's Julia Vase #011 - Heatwave (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:126567) would make a good lamp when mounted on top of a 24-LED WS2812 ring controlled via WiFi with an ESP8266. Borrowed the two case pieces from Adafruit's BLE Voronoi Feather Lamp (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1343925) to hold the WS2812 ring and ESP8266. Scaled the solid version of the Julia vase up to 104%, printed it spiralized in white PLA+ and glued it inverted to the case-top.stl from the Adafruit lamp. Made a small mod to the Adafruit case.stl to cover the unused opening. The lamp is controlled over WiFi by Jason Coon's excellent esp8266-fastled-webserver (https://github.com/jasoncoon/esp8266-fastled-webserver). The finished lamp is mesmerizing and soothing. A simple project that gave beautiful results. Thanks again to the authors whose work inspired it.
