NOTE THAT I HAVE MADE A FEW MODS TO THE FILES. SEE UPDATES BELOW.This is a Heatset Press for either threaded brass inserts (or nuts) that you can use to add threads to your 3D printed models. You can do this without the aid of a press, but I found this makes placement of the inserts more accurate. There is a full Assembly Guide included with the STL files and it is comprehensive except when it comes to the SPRINGS. I was able to give links to example products on the Internet for everything but the springs. The instructions describe the type of springs you'll need and hopefully you can find them at a local hardware store. If you are able to find the perfect springs for this press, please let me know and I'll modify the Assembly Guide.Note that the links in the Assembly Guide (PDF) for parts go to Amazon and I listed them more as examples than anything. If you can buy items individually in a hardware store, avoiding stainless steel, you may save money. The Flanged Linear Bearings and Linear Rods are the exceptions; you should buy the ones I specified.Have fun!PRINT PARAMETERS:Slicing App: PrusaSlicerFilament: PLA or PETG for all parts but the cord clip and TPU for the cord clipInfill: 15% except for Cord Clip and Soldering Iron Holder which was 100%Supports: Auto-Generate except for the Handle in which Overhang Threshold was set at 80% because it was printed upright with opening at top.UPDATED PARTS AS OF 3/26/2024I revised the Soldering Iron Holder and the Soldering Iron Extension so that it holds the iron better (less wobbly and prone to come undone). I replaced the parts in the Files section.I am also including a Parts Drawer that you can use in place of the Insert Tray. It is a box with three drawers and will fit on either side (or both sides) of the press. I added this to the bottom of the Parts list.
