Heatkiller D5 Reservoir mount for WaterCool MoRa 3

This is a mount to fix a heatkiller pump/reservoir combo on a Watercool MoRa 3. You need to print one of each parts. The two bracket halves are held together by 2 M3x30 bolts. There is no hex nut needed, the thread should hold well in the printed part. The mounts on the MoRa are also M3 bolts but they need to be quite short (M3x8 or M3x10). The part named "Ringholder" slides onto the bottom of the D5 pump and sits under the heatkiller reservoir with no gap (the screenshot shows my CAD model which isn't quite like the real thing). This is a tight fit, it works with my aquacomputer D5 pump but there are many manufacturers out there. Let me know if there is a fit issue and I can loosen the diameter a bit. But please make sure your printer is calibrated well first. Finally, the idea behind this whole mounting concept is to isolate pump noise. The D5 pump can be a great way to find out what resonances your computer case is capable of producing, and I wanted this to be really really quiet. So I used 4 small rubber isolators (diameter 10, height 10 mm with M4 bolt on both sides) like you can buy here: https://gummi-metall-puffer-shop.de/gummipuffer-typ-A-zwei-aussengewinde-10-10 They are oriented at 45° angle and located on four corners. I was a bit worried about the stability of the whole thing as the full res can be top heavy, but it's working absolutely fine. I did not use these exact ones, I had some that came with the EKWB pump holder I was using before. You need to follow these steps in the described order: Mount the rubber isolators to the ring part and fix them with M4 hex nuts from the inside Fit the rubber isolators into both bracket halves. It's not possible to fix these with hex nuts as I found out afterwards (lol), but it's not necessary as they have no place to go once everything is assembled Bolt the bracket halves together Bolt the finished assembly to the MoRa Push the pump/res combo in from the top Print Settings Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: I3 MK3S Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3 mm Infill: 15% Filament: any PETG any Notes: The brackets are best printed lying flat on the side, this is best for stability and also gives you a smooth outer layer. I did not use supports on the countersunk holes and it worked fine. The ring for the D5 pump can be printed either side up, again if you print it with the top side down you have a smooth finish on that side. I used the ironing feature to get both flat surfaces perfect. I really recommend PETG for this application as it's significantly more heat resistant than PLA and the pump can get hot. How I Designed This Thank heavens for grabcad.com. I found the heatkiller reservoir and the radiator on there, and while the dimensions for the rad weren't 100% exact, they did help me visualize the assembly immensely. Category: Computer
