Heathkit Knobs
thingiverse
These are 3D models for Heathkit equipment knobs. For the latest versions see: https://github.com/jefftranter/3dmodels/tree/master/HeathkitKnobs knob-medium: A medium-sized knob used on test equipment and radios like the Heathkit HR-10B. knob-large: A large-sized knob used on test equipment and radios like the Heathkit HR-10B. knob-small: A small-sized knob used on test equipment and radios like the Heathkit HR-10B. pointer: A white pointer that is mounted under the large knob on some models. knob-medium-concentric: A medium-sized knob designed to have a small knob mounted concentric to it. The center knob is usually colored red. The .scad files are the original OpenSCAD files created by hand, and the .stl files were generated from OpenSCAD for use in 3D printer/slicer software like Cura. These models are intended for printing with a 3D printer. Good results have been achieved using LulzBot Mini and Prusa i3 printers with high-quality settings, although they will not match the quality of original knobs. To print these models, support material should be used. After printing, remove the support material. A 20% infill setting is recommended, but a 100% infill setting may be preferred for the small knob. The hole for the shaft may need to be filed slightly to ensure a proper fit. An 8-32 set screw of suitable length is required to secure the knob on the shaft, and an 6-32 set screw may be needed for the small knob. For knobs with pointers, some white paint can be applied to the pointer. PLA material has been used in these models, but other materials like ABS could potentially be treated with acetone to produce smoother results.
