Heated Bed Clips
thingiverse
Updated on January 26, 2003: These clips provide approximately eight hours of use before loosening. Despite their effectiveness, do not expect them to secure the glass against lateral force exerted by the nozzle on elevated print edges. Intended for Solidoodle 2's glass bed modification due to binder clips' protruding design impeding door closure. The clips are designed for a 5.4mm glass/bed thickness. To use, position them on opposite sides of the bed where it is flattest and highest; adjust placement accordingly if your bed has a warped profile like mine, which was higher in the middle but even from left to right. Consequently, my clips were placed on the left and right central areas. This design means that the glass will be higher at the front and rear edges. Clipping from the front with binder clips caused the back edge to lift nearly 3mm, while side clips caught on the Y-axis. The flatter clips seem more effective and have a smaller profile for printing near the edges. Initially, I made larger clips first, which didn't fit as tightly possibly due to heat exposure; however, they are inexpensive to replace as they wear out.
