Heatbed Threaded Rod Support "Z" Axis
thingiverse
Designed in response to a post from the unofficial hypercube group on Facebook, I encountered issues with prints that weren't always attributed to "Z" banding problems. The culprit turned out to be the weight of the heatbed setup, which is now transferred entirely to the collar and not the coupling. I've created two versions: one features a cutout on the side, allowing me to gain an extra 15mm due to my machine's aluminum angle assembly. The other version has no cutout at all. Both designs accommodate both 8mm and 10mm threaded rods. For 8mm rods, I'm using a 608zz bearing, while for 10mm rods, I've opted for a 6900zz bearing or similar. To ensure proper positioning, locate the collars 19-20mm from the end of the screw. This should place the threaded rod approximately 8mm into the coupling, assuming you have a standard 25x19mm coupling located about 5mm on the stepper motor shaft.
