Heat sink for the often neglected X axis motor- Replicator 2X
thingiverse
In the second update, a photo showcasing the extruder motor's heat sinks was added after grinding them down to 7.5 mm in height to avoid collisions with the back. The first update features a picture of the Y-axis motor, which is as easy and similar to the extruder motors. A heat sink was also tried for the X-axis motor; however, limited space poses a challenge for connections. Despite not being ideal, it still dissipates some heat, preventing excessive heating during extended prints. The heatsinks on the extruders were used as guides for drilling holes, and a wedge was cut from one corner to avoid injury while removing prints. All comments and suggestions are welcome since this may be a unique modification. The STL file and IGES file serve as a blueprint. A 40mm x 40mm heatsink purchased on eBay was drilled and machined, and remember to apply heat sink compound. Enjoy!
