Problem: Heat bed springs may scratch through the electrically insulated layer of the heat bed, causing a potential safety hazard. This can lead to the spring conducting voltage and amperage at its contact point in the heat bed circuit to the metal plate below, creating a significant risk. When printing, movement of the heat bed can also cause another contact to short-circuit this voltage to ground, making it essential to take immediate action. Fix: A simple fix is available to mitigate this issue. Print four insulated washers and install them between the heatbed and securing nuts located underneath. In models other than the Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus, ensure that there is no direct contact between the heatbed and springs. Refer to Figure 2 for detailed installation instructions.
