Shots taken by Jean Dzhermakyan Heart·o·ca·do - /härtəˈkädō/ A 3D printed avocado with a heart as seed is created. It has emotions and feelings. Give loved ones the special gift of Heartocado! I made Heartocado using Green Hatchbox PLA for the avocado and Hatchbox Wood PLA for the Seed. Avocado halves are upscaled to 102% to fit heart in nicely despite printer inaccuracies. Making it nice takes a bit of effort. Big thanks go to AmazingDesign and emmett for incredible models! Print Settings Printer: Original Prusa i3 MK2 Rafts: No rafts needed Supports: Yes, supports are used Infill: 20%ish infill for Avocado, 50%ish infill for Heart Notes: Print avocado halves face down with supports for heart hole. I used 100 Microns for it. Print Heart with supports. I used 50 Microns for it. Resolution can be whatever you prefer. Post-Printing Post-cado Very Light coat of black spray paint is applied to avocado exterior to resemble real avocado. Heart is finely sanded, washed off, filled with wood putty to fill gaps, sanded and washed again. Then Minwax Special Walnut Stain is used to get the "seedy" look! After post processing, heart is completely smooth and incredible to touch. Doesn't feel 3D printed! How I Designed This Meshmixer Used Meshmixer to round heart and smooth it out. Avocado is sliced down center, placed heart between, did boolean difference.
