Heart Trinket - First design by a five year old!

thingiverse

My five year old daughter approached me, asking if she could print out a heart that she had drawn one day. Being very specific, I asked her to design it with me instead. She was wearing a pink ruler slap bracelet and was able to tell me the sizes of everything she wanted. I agreed, saying "ok." At that point, I was in the middle of printing parts for my students on my personal printer because the school Makerbot was down, but what designer can resist that request? We created this heart simply by using a mirrored half circle and an arc, then extruding and filleting it in AutoCAD. It was her first 3D CAD design, and she did a great job. She has continued to ask to design with me, and I hope she keeps the ideas coming. She absolutely adores these hearts and keeps them in her homemade treasure box, so I hope you will adore them too!
