Heart Shaped Trinket Box

I created this custom heart-shaped box as a gift for my mom on Mother's Day back in 2013, carefully designing and laser-cutting each piece with precision. The box's sides curve around the heart shape using kerf bends and living hinges, which allows for smooth flexibility without adding unnecessary complexity to the design. While designed specifically for 3mm plywood, the entire design can easily be scaled up or down to suit a variety of material thicknesses. You can even add your own personal touch by engraving or printing custom text onto the top and bottom surfaces. Plus, I included an ingenious closure system that lets the lid fit snugly into place when you apply a small amount of glue underneath - but feel free to get creative and swap it out for some hidden magnets or a thin metal plate attached to the underside for an extra sleek look!
