Heart Projection with Braille

Heart Projection with Braille

I crafted a tactile diagram of the human heart, meticulously labeling each chamber and vein in braille on one side to assist visually impaired students pursuing STEM fields or struggling in science classes. A student can effortlessly explore the intricate details of the heart with their left hand while reading the key provided to the left. This compact design is ideal for storage as it can be easily stacked alongside other models, waiting to be pulled out when needed next. I designed this model using Solidworks and brought it to life with a Lulzbot TAZ printer at normal quality, utilizing HIPS filament. My school has recently adopted ColorFabb XT as our primary printing material, and I highly recommend its use since it offers superior strength! Printing with high-quality filament ensures that the braille remains intact, preventing damage or loss of details.
