Three unique base pendant designs centred on The Heart of Carolina; Distilled into simpler forms with "detailed" (utilizing an Appalachian height map scaling) variations, minor simplifications had to be applied to the coastal area and Outer Banks for optimal print quality. Printing out rapidly within under 10 minutes at a dimension roughly 1 and 1/4 inches in width proves most efficient. One design features a back channel where a chain can seamlessly pass through, though additional processing like support printing, eyelet drilling and cleaning might be required for a flawless appearance; this model printed successfully on its face with built-in supports. The other designs offer chain or chain ring insertion options through pre-existing holes. These pendant styles are currently being explored as molds for metal casting but also serve admirably in standard plastics such as PLA or ABS; to assess casting feasibility, one design will soon undergo production via the Shapeways service.
