Heart Hummingbird Feeder
thingiverse
A fun little hummingbird feeder that looks fantastic with the heart printed in translucent red resin which as I hear it is a big attractor for hummingbirds. The version I made also had a name cut out from the centre of the heart which you could certainly do and I can include the Blender file if anyone is interested in adding their own. The parts are all printed separately (on a resin printer in my case, you could try with FDM but it would be tricky to keep the same resolution) which lets you pick and choose colours. Most of the parts will press fit in place and stay fine but I also used a little epoxy resin to make sure they never move. The reservoir has a sloped bottom to run all the syrup etc to the outsides to make sure it is all accessible and there is a tiny lid for it to reduce evaporation (though I forgot the lid for the photo). I've added a base for the heart to help adhesion during printing but this will need to be cut off, a hacksaw is easiest but a pair of pliers will probably work fine, this section won't be seen once assembled. Have fun! This one was a gift for some one international but we don't actually have hummingbirds here in Australia so I'd love to see any pictures of this in use!
