Heart Guillotine
thingiverse
A free-standing sculpture inspired by the album artwork for "Nobody Fits" by Black Market Research was created as a gift to commemorate the launch of their latest album "Nobody Fits". The guillotine's functionality lies in its ability to slide up and down, but it will not perform any cutting tasks. This large print measures approximately 270mm x 220mm, requiring a slightly larger than standard bed to accommodate the sections. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Custom Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .3 Infill: 15% Notes: You only need supports in specific areas, such as the heart and top overhangs, due to their complexity. I printed at a resolution of .3 mm because it was coated with XTC 3D and sanded/painted; feel free to print at higher resolutions if desired. Post-Printing The pieces feature interlocking slots that allow them to fit together seamlessly, excluding the top section. To assemble the sculpture, you can use any method that suits your preference. I employed a dremel for friction welding, but crazy glue would also be effective. Small metal eyes and string are the only additional components required to complete the project; they are entirely optional. However, coating the piece with XTC-3D followed by acrylic paint added an extra layer of depth and visual appeal.
