Heart Gingerbread

The traditional Lectar heart, a classic Slovenian gingerbread, enjoys great popularity in Slovenia's historic town of Slovenj Gradec and can even be found at the Lectar Gingerbread Museum in Radovljica. Interestingly, this specific Lectar heart was carefully crafted by Slovenian women residing in Canberra, Australia, to commemorate Mother’s Day. Following its creation, the lect was expertly digitized using 123D Catch software and a Samsung A5 smartphone. The term "licitar" is also used to refer to the Lectar heart in Croatia, where gingerbread craftsmanship from Northern Croatia has been recognized by UNESCO as an important part of Croatian cultural heritage.
