The Listening Amplifier. When purchasing a hearing amplifier, the prices can be steep due to micro-sized electronics used in their manufacturing process. Fortunately, manual hearing amplifiers offer a cost-effective alternative with no electronic components involved. These simple yet effective hearing aid alternatives are also more eco-friendly than their electronic counterparts. They're fully recyclable and eliminate the need for expensive batteries that harm the environment. Things To Look Out For A high print resolution is recommended to achieve maximum sound amplification. A low-resolution print can scatter sound waves, reducing their directness into the ear. The ideal material for printing is Nylon, but ABS also works well. PLA, however, may not produce optimal results as it absorbs more sound than reflects it. For a snug fit in the ear, use spare rubber fittings from in-ear headphones on the hearing amplifier's ends. Not all types will work, so experiment to find the best one for you. Help Needed This project is ongoing and requires your feedback. Print out this design, test its comfort level, and share your experience with me. I'll continue refining it until it suits everyone's needs.
