Hear Me Out Maze Puzzle
myminifactory
As the design prints out, I placed a 6mm ball bearing (slingshot ammo) into one of its cavities. Now, the only way to get the ball out without breaking the cube is by rolling it through the internal maze and listening for clues. I've attached an image of the internal structure that can be printed on paper as a clue or 3D printed as a generous gift (I haven't tried printing the standalone internal structure yet; if I do, I'll upload the STL file and pictures). This design is the first in a series of puzzle games that require gamers to rely on their sense of hearing, touch, and spatial visualization. As the first in the series, this design tests some boundaries that will be part of other designs, making it an extremely difficult puzzle. This is a perfect gift for someone who thinks they can solve any problem. A note about the ball bearing: you could 3D print a 6mm sphere or use a 6mm marble if you don't have this part. Just make sure the gap where you drop it has enough clearance that it won't interfere with new layers. Alternatively, wait until the print is finished and then put the ball in, but this will likely decrease the puzzle's effectiveness and difficulty.
