Headphone wire clip
thingiverse
After upgrading my headphones by adding a 3.5mm female jack to switch between cables quickly, I soon discovered that even slight snags or resistance on the cable combined with small head movements would cause my headphones to disconnect. To solve this problem, I designed a simple mechanism that allows me to temporarily secure my headphone cable onto my headphones while making it easily removable. Instructions: 1) Ensure everything fits together perfectly by sanding all parts for a tight and precise fit between them. 2) After verifying the correct fit, insert your 3.5mm headphone jack into the clip as a guide, but not fully through, allowing it to act as a holder for the clip assembly. 3) Apply a small amount of CA glue to the radiused part of the clip holder and attach the entire assembly securely onto the headphones, ensuring a snug fit. 4) Once the clip holder is firmly attached, remove the 3.5mm jack, leaving only the clip inside the holder. Then, apply a small amount of CA glue to the jack and insert it forcefully into the assembly, making sure everything aligns correctly and the cable connector makes proper contact with the headphone's female connector. Important Notes: 1) The part of the clip that fits onto your 3.5mm jack might be too small. You can try reprinting it in a larger scale or heat it up with a lighter for a few seconds to make it flexible, then fit it securely onto the jack using CA glue. 2) If the clip holder's radius is too large or too small for your headphones, you can easily edit it in your CAD software by cutting the radius of your headphones on the clip holder.
