Headphone Case
pinshape
This is a cylindrical earbud case boasting an overall diameter of 97 mm and a thickness of 29 mm. The case consists of two distinct components: the male half and the female half, which screw together with custom threads located at the center of the cylinder. Three identical threads rotate a total of 0.6 revolutions, providing a clearance of 1 mm for free rotation. The internal cavity has a maximum diameter of 85 mm and a minimum diameter of 35 mm, with a depth of 22 mm. Originally designed to fit a pair of wireless earbuds, the case will accommodate most pairs of earbuds. When completely assembled, the outside cylindrical faces of each component should be flush with one another. The threaded rod of the male half should be very close to flush with the back of the female half, possibly protruding by just 1 mm. The contents will not slip out without fully disassembling the case, thanks to the rims of both parts overlapping by 14 mm with a 1 mm clearance between them. The printed parts were created using a 0.7 mm nozzle and a 0.4 mm layer height in Solutech Gold PLA. All components can be printed without supports, but relatively high shell counts are recommended to prevent damage.
