Headless Gourd-shaped Ukulele in 8 pieces
pinshape
Soprano Gugulele An example of a 3D model generated with my custom OpenSCAD script for the Gugulele. Decorative headless design features double rectangular through-body spines, providing durability and stability. Double oval sound holes add an aesthetic touch while allowing optimal sound projection. Banjo style planetary tuners ensure precise tuning control. A hole in the tail section facilitates the installation of a 1/4" pickup for amplified sound production. Eight components assemble seamlessly with M1.6 socket head screws. This design builds upon my earlier creations, including the Headless Soprano and Headed Soprano models. While I have yet to print this model, I encourage enthusiasts to attempt assembling it successfully and share their experiences. Third-party parts are recommended for optimal performance and availability: Spine/rods can be sourced from various suppliers, such as http://www.acpsales.com/.125-x-.325-Rectangular-Rod.html. Banjo tuners are available on online marketplaces like Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B018AWABJ4/) or eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/361528177703).
