A masterfully crafted head mesh for Catmull-Clark subdivision is unveiled, comprising only quads. The vertices connect primarily to four edges and occasionally five, leaving the question of minimality unproven. Initially surprised by the inability to circumvent five-edge connections, the creator reflects on the inherent geometry of a cube's corners, which necessitate three edges. A torus was employed as the foundation for each hole in the head, allowing viewers to infer the creative process involved. The fear of perfectly matching a mesh to an image has long been a concern, but this particular mesh provides a sense of substantial progress with every iteration.
