Head of the "Leaning Satyr"
myminifactory
Roman replica (AD 2nd c.) after a masterpiece by Praxiteles (ca. 340/320 BC), the renowned Greek sculptor. In ancient Greek mythology, satyrs were mythical creatures who belonged to Dionysus' troop of male companions; they possessed horse-like ears and tails, along with an unrelenting, exaggerated sex drive. These free-spirited beings spent their days drinking, dancing, and relentlessly pursuing nymphs. This object is part of the "Scan The World" initiative.
