Head of Socrates
myminifactory
Socrates was a renowned ancient Athenian philosopher whose teachings are deeply rooted in the works of his esteemed disciple Plato. Through engaging dialogues with others, he sought to illuminate understanding and ethical principles by skillfully exposing and dispelling misconceptions (the Socratic method). Accused of introducing unconventional deities and corrupting the youth, he chose a noble path by taking his own life as dictated. On display at the Antike am Königsplatz in Munich is a poignant testament to Socrates' legacy. The museum proudly showcases Bavaria's impressive collections of antiquities from Greece, Etruria, and Rome. In contrast, the sculpture collection is housed in the adjacent Glyptothek, while works created within Bavaria are showcased in a separate museum. Ancient Egypt also boasts its own dedicated museum.
