Acquired in 1842 from the Riccardi Collection, Florence (I) - A Roman Marble Replica of a 270-250 BC Original\r\nThe head of Dionysus is one of several ancient copies, with the "Head from the South Slope" of the Athenian Acropolis standing out as the most exceptional. The statuary type associated with it remained undetermined until now. The model may have been based on a renowned Early Hellenistic statue in the Athenian sanctuary dedicated to Dionysus.\r\n \r\nThis object is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory, aimed at creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from around the globe for public access free.
