A chubby male child is typically depicted as a figure in art, usually naked and sometimes sporting wings. This type of figure is often referred to as a cherub, but unlike its biblical counterpart, the cherubim, it has no four distinct faces or multiple sets of wings - attributes that make the biblical cherubim sacred. The putto, however, is secular and represents a non-religious passion.
