This striking alabaster visage originates from a majestic sculpture of King Khafre. The nose bears noticeable chips, the beard is severed at its base, and both ears are absent except for the surviving lobe of the right ear. A significant portion of the top of the head has been broken off, yet a crucial joining fragment remains intact. Provenance This artifact was unearthed from Giza's northeast corner in debris surrounding G 5330. In 1914, the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition excavated it, and subsequently, the Egyptian government assigned it to the MFA within the division of discoveries. Date of accession: March 1, 1921 Expert photography and photogrammetry were conducted by Zhejiang University.
