Head of Homer

Head of Homer

The legendary Greek poet Homer left a lasting impact on Western culture through his epic poems: The Iliad and The Odyssey. Despite being a celebrated author, little is known about Homer's personal life. Visitors to the Antike am Königsplatz in Munich can witness ancient artifacts from Greece, Etruria, and Rome firsthand. However, the museum's sculpture collection is actually housed in the adjacent Glyptothek. Additionally, artworks created within Bavaria are showcased in a separate museum, while a dedicated space for Ancient Egypt's treasures exists elsewhere. This remarkable object is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit project initiated by MyMiniFactory to create a comprehensive digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, landmarks, and artworks from around the globe, accessible to everyone at no cost. As an open-source community effort, anyone with interesting items nearby can contribute by emailing stw@myminifactory.com to learn how they can participate.
