Head of Hercules
myminifactory
This extensively restored work from the 17th Century represents Hercules from the 1st century A.D. Its head was inspired by Lysippus' creations, crafted in the mid-4th century B.C. and made famous through Roman copies like the Farnese Hercules and the Hercules Epitrapezios. A band holds the hair in place, perforated with holes for attaching a metal crown. The bust itself is a 19th-Century addition.
