This head is a Roman-period replica of the Harmodius, part of the famous bronze group portraying the Tyrannicides- Aristogeiton and Harmodius, who brutally murdered Hipparchus, son of Athenian tyrant Peisistratus, created by Kritios and Nesiotes between 477 and 476 BC. The work translates the principles of the severe style with greater flexibility than the original and employs a drill to style the hair, indicating a date in the 2nd century AD.
