Head of Artemis or Apollo

myminifactory

Athens (Greece) obtained in 1844 features a magnificent Marble statue created between 330-300 BC. The exquisite head was crafted to adorn a grand monument and could possibly originate from an iconic cult image. Its refined appearance, including the delicate hairstyle and pierced earlobes, initially led art historians to believe it was female, thus associating it with Artemis. However, similar characteristics can also be found in Apollo, leaving some experts questioning its original purpose. This stunning object is part of "Scan The World", a groundbreaking initiative launched by MyMiniFactory that aims to create a comprehensive digital library of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe. Scan The World is an open-source project that relies on community contributions, inviting individuals with fascinating artifacts to share their stories and contribute to this vast collection by emailing stw@myminifactory.com.
