The Xiuding Temple's pagoda at Mount Qingliang, near Anyang, Henan province, houses a Tang dynasty (A.D. 618-907) architectural brick adorned with an ogre mask, likely from the second half of the 8th century. This molded terracotta piece measures 42.0 x 36.2 x 11.4 cm (16 1/2 x 14 1/4 x 4 1/2 in) and is part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection, gifted by Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bro and funded by the Russell Tyson Fund (1984.1340).
